Phoenicia Hotel Beirut

Introduction: The Phoenicia Hotel was a dream for Najib Salha – a prominent Lebanese businessman – who in the year 1953, during Lebanon’s Golden Era, envisioned to build a world class hotel on the shores of Beirut. With a group of investors, Mr. Salha founded “La Société des Grands Hotels du Liban” and invited leading American architect Edward Durell Stone to fulfill this dream.

Above information is how the hotel presents itself on their website.

Below is my experience based on a one-night stay at the property.

My arrival experience: Warm welcome. Escorted right to the room.
What I loved: The service and the design.
What about the food: I had lunch at their partner hotel, Le Vendome and it was quite good. Phoenicia has different dining options.
What about the service: Professional service in all areas of the hotel. Almost Four Seasons level.
What about the rooms: Beautiful renovated rooms. Mine had a comfortable bed, working desk, flat screen Tv, bathtub and L'Occitane products in the bathroom.
Number of rooms: 446.
Website: www.phoeniciabeirut.com
Type of property: City hotel.
Location: Beirut, Lebanon.
Facilities: Business/meeting facilities, gym, pool and a great spa where I had a pleasant Indian spa treatment.
Complimentary internet: Yes.
Affiliations: Managed by IHG. This is an InterContinental hotel.
My overall impression: Great experience. Fully up to InterContinental's standards.
