My favourite country in the world for many reasons. The diversity, the people, the food, the cities, the countryside, nature, the animals and the affordability are some of the things that come to mind.
2. New Zealand
My favourite European country. Fantastic food and culture. I especially love the countryside. Spends months in Italy and expect to keep returning again and again.
4. Maldives
Probably my favourite place in the world to relax. The private island resorts with their fantastic villas and incredible water are incredible experiences. It is also why I have set a new goal to stay in 100 private island resorts in this incredible country.
5. Australia
Australia is a fantastic country, and one of my favourites. The cost of living is very high and the only downside.
6. Vanuatu
My favourite country in the Pacific with it's friendly people and beautiful nature. Ratua Private Island is a place not to miss.
7. Rwanda
The biggest surprise in my travels. Rwanda is safe, well-run and with surprisingly great infrastructure making a road trip in the land of a thousand hills a real experience.
8. Palau
One of the world's smallest countries and probably the safest. Easiest country to hitchhike. It's beautiful beaches, nature and the special feel makes it a top 10.

A country I love visiting again and again, but it is a very expensive place and many resorts are overpriced for what you get. If it were cheaper, it would be higher on the list as it is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
10. Thailand
The land of smiles makes the final top 10 spot for it's people. Too many tourists to my liking, but I still love many parts of the country and keep returning.
It is very hard to make a top 10. Other favourites certainly include Sweden, Laos, Bhutan, Japan, Fiji, Estonia, Namibia, Botswana, parts of the UK and the USA.
